Claude

ChatGPT is the live host today.

Claude Desktop and Claude Code are a planned MCP host for POINTS. Neither is QA-passed on production, and POINTS does not publish a date.

This page will carry the connection guide once the host passes QA on production. Until then, ChatGPT is the host to use; see the ChatGPT guide.

Host status comes from /docs/catalog.json. For how any MCP host discovers POINTS, see Discovery.

Draft setup (not yet QA-passed)

This section is a draft for QA. It is not a supported connection and it is not QA-passed on production.

claude.ai and Claude Desktop

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Enter the server URL https://thepoints.io/mcp.
  3. Choose "Register automatically" or the default registration option.
  4. Sign in to POINTS, review the requested scopes, and approve them.

Claude Code

  1. Run claude mcp add --transport http points https://thepoints.io/mcp.
  2. Run /mcp in Claude Code and complete the browser sign-in and scope approval.

Check the connection

  1. Call get_wallet_status and get_agent_pay_policy_vocabulary, and confirm only the authorized account's stored data comes back.
  2. Prepare a draft with prepare_payment, then approve or reject it in POINTS.
  3. Read the draft with get_payment_status. The status shows executed: false. Approve does not execute.
  4. Revoke the connection in POINTS and confirm that later calls return HTTP 401.
